Backbone Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm based in Zurich and Frankfurt am Main. The firm focuses on backing founders as early as possible in their entrepreneurial journey. It deliberately targets founders who have outperformed competition despite being structurally underprivileged based on gender, origin, or socioeconomic background. Since September 2022, investments are primarily made through a dedicated pre-seed fund with a strong geographical focus on Germany and Switzerland.
